Who we are
pushstart.llc, trading as StudioMike, is the data controller for the personal data described here. That means we decide why and how your personal data is processed when you use StudioMike.
What we collect and why
Account data — email address, password credentials (stored hashed by our authentication provider), display name, handle and any profile details or avatar you add. Used to create and secure your account and identify you in the app. Legal basis: performance of our contract with you.
Content you upload — audio files (tracks, acapellas, beats), beat titles, genre, BPM and key. Used to provide mastering, Verse Drop and the beat store, and to list beats you choose to publish. Legal basis: performance of our contract with you.
Live session data — session titles and schedules, live audio you broadcast, chat messages you post, and listening records (which session, how long) used to calculate host earnings. Legal basis: performance of our contract; legitimate interests in operating a fair earnings system.
Purchase and earnings records — what you bought or sold, amounts, order references, earnings entries and payout status. Used to grant what you paid for, pay creators, keep accounts and handle refunds or disputes. Legal basis: contract and legal obligation.
Support messages — what you send us when you get in touch. Used to answer you. Legal basis: legitimate interests.
Technical and usage data — IP address, device and browser identifiers, pages viewed, error and performance telemetry. Used for security, fraud prevention, debugging and improving the product. Legal basis: legitimate interests.
Who we share data with
- Service providers / subprocessors — hosting, database, authentication, file storage, live messaging, email delivery and error monitoring providers who process data on our instructions.
- Paddle, our Merchant of Record, for the sale of our products, order and subscription management, payments, tax compliance, invoicing and refunds. Paddle acts as controller for the payment data it collects at checkout.
- Payout providers — where you set up creator payouts, our payout provider collects the identity and bank details needed for verification and to send you money. We never see or store your bank account numbers.
- Professional advisers — legal, accounting and tax advisers where necessary.
- Authorities — where required by law or to protect our rights.
We do not sell your personal data.
International transfers
We are based in the United States and our providers may process data in the US and other countries. Where data is transferred out of the UK or EEA, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses or an adequacy decision.
How long we keep it
Account, content and session data are kept while your account is active and for a short period afterwards so you can recover it. Purchase, earnings and tax records are kept as long as the law requires (typically seven years). Technical logs are kept for a limited period for security and debugging. After that, data is deleted or anonymised.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access your data, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to processing, receive a portable copy, withdraw consent, and — in the UK/EEA — complain to your supervisory authority. Contact us and we will respond within one month.
Security
We use appropriate technical and organisational measures: encryption in transit, encrypted storage, row-level access rules so users can only reach their own records, private storage buckets with short-lived signed links, and restricted administrative access.
Cookies and local storage
StudioMike uses essential cookies and browser local storage to keep you signed in, remember your free-tier welcome offers and unlock downloads you have paid for. We do not use advertising cookies. You can clear or block them in your browser, but signing in and purchase unlocking may stop working.
